Chris Knott, Club Insurance Scheme

Chris Knott Insurance is proud to have been asked by the club to provide insurance services to it's members. We have been providing services for car clubs for nearly 25 years and, during this period, many club members have benefited from the special insurance rates available.

To mark the launch of the scheme we thought it would be benificial to highlight some of the services available to you through the club scheme.

Car

We have 2 main categories of product for BRISKODA members. Cars will either fall into Classic or Everyday profiles and we will provide a quote based on the most appropriate category for your vehicle, its usage, age and storage. If you fit the profile for Classic insurance, we will seamlessly transfer you to our classic insurance partner Lancaster who will administer the policy on our behalf. Please rest assured that we still indirectly control this area of business and the club will still receive it's share of the commission. In fact, because Lancaster only insures Classics, their success rate is significantly higher - reflecting the competitive prices and excellent cover on offer.

We appreciate that as buyers you want to be sure you are getting the best insurance deal. However, you may find that, by sticking with your current provider, you are missing out on a better deal with us. Typically we can offer you good discounts on your motor insurance, aiming to beat any quotation you may receive elsewhere - obviously the specific application of discount depends on a member's individual needs and circumstances.

Remember - you are not paying extra by going through us and the club benefits from a slice of our commission - we do not add this on to the premium when we quote you. It really is a profit share.

Agreed Value

For BRISKODA members with cherished newer cars (but still over 5 years old), we have a special Agreed Value policy that enables you to agree the value of your vehicle at inception of the policy (even without mileage restriction, garaging etc). This is a very great benefit, since insurance companies would not normally pay out the full value in the event of a total loss. This extra benefit is only available with one Insurer and costs £28.00 - definitely an upgrade that most Club Members would value.

Breakdown

When you're stuck at the side of the road or in your driveway (though we know - Skoda never break down!!), the last thing you want is to find out that your cover doesn't stretch to that specific type of breakdown.

That's why we've tailored our Breakdown Cover* to give you everything you need - the top level of cover at an exceptional saving: Home Start, Roadside Assistance (including wheel change), Roadside Repairs, Recovery, Onward Travel, Overnight Stay and European Cover.

Given that the nearest cover with the AA costs £141.00** and doesn't include Europe, we're offering fuller cover and a better price - the above, all-inclusive cover is available to BRISKODA members for just - £54.50.

We think you'll agree this offer is almost unbeatable and too tempting to miss. Therefore, even if you already have breakdown cover contact us now and we'll arrange to switch your cover when your policy comes up for renewal - with nothing to pay until then. Just call 0870 240 6737 and quote reference CK79. This product is administered by a seperate company, on our behalf, but commission is still paid to the club if you quote the above reference.

NEXT STEP >>Contacting Chris Knot Insurance can be done online via there web site or by calling their quotation team on 0800 917 2274.

At the beginning state you are a member of the internet site "BRISKODA" along with your user id to qualify for the above schemes.

Re: Chris Knott, Club Insurance Scheme

Time to find another insurer for the club?

My renewal is nearly due and I always check around several providers to get a comparative quote, I thought I would try this club insurance this year to see what they could offer me...............

They can't offer anything as they DO NOT ANSWER the phone anytime/anyday....

after 6 attempts on seperate days and at different times I am obviously very much less than impressed.

Re: Chris Knott, Club Insurance Scheme

Also, if you live in Liverpool or the surrounding areas and want to insure either VRS that's been breathed on... forget it!!

I was told, nah... "we don't insure modified cars in Liverpool" when I phoned up for a quote on my Octavia.

No explanation given... Bad show

Re: Chris Knott, Club Insurance Scheme

I will have to say the opposite here. After searching around the internet for a quote as my renewall is up at the end of the month, yesterday I called Chris Knott to see what they could offer, they answered the phone quick enough gave me a quote then promised to match the best quote - 10% (as long as I got proof of said quote and excess). All I had to do was email a screen grab from my best quote with all the excesses and job done.

Re: Chris Knott, Club Insurance Scheme

They were good for me as well.

They sent me a renewal which I thought a bit excessive so I shopped around a bit.
I then called them back and they matched my best quote which knocked £100 of their renewal price.

Big from me.

Re: Chris Knott, Club Insurance Scheme

I've just insured my Elise with them.

Phoned the company whom I insure the Octy with and got a quote which was much cheaper than Chris Knott however Chris Knot then beat my other quote by 10%.

Re: Chris Knott, Club Insurance Scheme

Chris Knott have always given me great service & reassuringly when Wendy stacked the Octy a couple of years ago the claim was efficently sorted.
I had been contacted by some stupid Indian lady from the Insurance co who really was a total numptie, rang knotts & never heard a thing for a few days, then got an offer from the Insurance co on the wreck. I didnt have to do a thing & bonus was the Insurance co offered over book , I think they missed the over 100,000 miles bit.

Recently they were unable to offer me a competetive quote on the Modified Nissan & quickly & efficently returned the balance of premium & proof of no claims

The Insurance on the other Octy came through last week, they had already got an alternative quote £150 cheaper than the present renewal.

For me excellent over several years

Re: Chris Knott, Club Insurance Scheme

Chriss Knott are definatley the way forward. As part of both Briskoda, and a fellow Vag owners site, i rang Chriss Knott. Paul couldnt have been more helpful. My generic grey, trunked animal insurance company qouted just over a grand for my renewal. After some searching, then contacting Chris Knott, i had it down to £630. Now that is more like it

Re: Chris Knott, Club Insurance Scheme

Should point out that Chris Knott are a small company based in a little village (that most people have never heard of) in Kent, so they can't be compared to the big boys in terms of speed of answering the phone etc. It's like comparing a corner shop against Tesco. Means they can offer excellent service but not in all situations.

They specialise in undercutting other quotes, so contact them last. Also, bear in mind they financially support this site out of their commission.

Sounds like they can't cover some areas though...

on the plus side I got through first time and was dealt with politely if a bit unbothered, probably due to the fact she knew she couldnt help me out.
