New shocks and springs for Octavia Estate 1.6i (97-00) Hi Sarah! ![]() My Octy is soon reaching 90' miles, and I feel a chassis tune-up is (over)due... Can you please give me a price for Koni FSD's for my car, and some standard hight springs? I live in Norway. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the partsnumber for the FSD's are 2100-4019. The norwegian price for theese are approx £ 700,-. Looking forward to your reply! ![]() Olit Last edited by olit; 27-04-2008 at 21:51.

| Re: New shocks and springs for Octavia Estate 1.6i (97-00) Hello my dear Yes we can do the shockers for you The springs will be megga megga expensive for standard , I do believe there have been quotes for £70 ish each I think if I was you , I would see if there is a company local that could help you with that one as it will end up being alot cheaper to go aftermarket , sorry I am trying to save you some money too but shhhh dont tell anyone , I will loose my reputation ![]() The FSD`s are £390.96 No VAT as you are in Norway Postage on these would be £58 I hope that helps? | Re: New shocks and springs for Octavia Estate 1.6i (97-00) Thanks Sarah!! Unfortunately the clutch on my wife's Peugeot Partner died the other day, so I have to start saving again But I will consider your offer carefully, and will hopefully soon come back to you! You made my first choice - the Koni FSD's become awailable again. I assume I must add the Norwegian VAT (25%) to the price, which makes the cost £ 488,- (+ £58,-) ![]() I was about to order Bilstein B6 singel tube shock, which in Norway would cost me £ 485,-, but I assume my fillings are glad I did not! ![]() I am/was looking for "standard" springs, or max 20mm lowering (because of the bad roads here) - but have not found any so far. The H&R OE Sport Springs is not delivered to my car. So I will probaly buy Lesjöfors "standard" springs which are a little bit cheaper than original Skoda-springs. Thanks again Sarah! ![]() Olit Last edited by olit; 30-04-2008 at 23:26. |

Re: New shocks and springs for Octavia Estate 1.6i (97-00) Hi again Sarah! Lucky me! This month my washingmachine broke. AND the rear shocks are sweating oil and it feels like they were empty yesterday... The front shocks - well they have probably 1000miles left - max. Luckily this month my payment is the "vacation-money" , so I can afford both!!! ![]() Can you please send me a PM on how I make the formal order, and how to pay you?! And can you tell me what is in the kit - dust-caps for instance? Please make it quick, I need the shocks yesterday ![]() Olit PS! I called Norwegian Customs, and they said I only have to pay Norwegian VAT on the shipment - price + postage. DS

Re: New shocks and springs for Octavia Estate 1.6i (97-00) Hi Sarah! Received the shocks today. Installed the rear ones immediately - together with new OE Lesjöfors springs, and drove 700 km. BIG improvement. The new shock and springs actually made the car a little bit higher - so I regret I did not order 30mm lower springs.... Installing the rear FSD's was really easy - as expected. I was surprised to find out that the FSD's are not gas-filled, but my experience so far tell me it does not matter! ![]() Thanks so far. I might come with a follow up, as soon as the front ones are fitted! ![]() Olit - on vacation

Re: New shocks and springs for Octavia Estate 1.6i (97-00) Hi again Sarah! ![]() Got the front shocks fitted monday, together with new (Lesjöfors) springs, and new (SuperPro) bushes. The FSD's give SUPERB ride comfort, combined with a supple ride quality! ![]() The only downside to the chassisupgrade is that the new springs are making my car stand to high! I know I have read somewhere that the FSD's are approved for handeling from 0 to xx cm lowering springs. Can you help me find the xx ansver? ![]() Olit

Re: New shocks and springs for Octavia Estate 1.6i (97-00) Hi IIRC it is approx 35mm How much was the lowering on the springs? The FSD`s can make the height rise approx 5mm , but when combined with lowering springs , obviously there is still lowering How long have you had them on? Sarah

Re: New shocks and springs for Octavia Estate 1.6i (97-00) Hi again! The Lesjöfors springs should be of "OE" quality, but I assume they are the problem. Unfortunately I did not measure the height of the car prior to the change, but it is now: front - 41,5 cm from center of the wheel to the top of the wheelarch, rear 39,5 cm. My car now looks like a Scout!! ![]() The rear shocks/springs were installed 28.6.08, and have now been on for approx 4000 km. They have settled nicely! ![]() The front shocks/spring were installed monday (25.8.08), and have been on for approx 50 km. I assume the front springs will settle a bit - level with the rear, but this is still pretty tall!I was wondering how much lowering the FSD's allowed, because one of the solutions is that the Lesjöfors-seller might offer me a Lesjöfors lowering kit (and return the OE ones to the factory). That kit is 35mm lower than std. If the FSD's can take this, the problem can be solved quite easy. I thougt it was max 30mm, which would force me to use another brand of springs - and thereby another supplier. Is there any documentation from KONI for how much lowering the FSD's allow? I might need such documentation to the MOT if i get to change to the lowering kit. Olit PS! I am really impressed with your care for your customers!!! ![]()

Re: New shocks and springs for Octavia Estate 1.6i (97-00) Hello my dear Oooh thank you , that read really nice thank you "Can be used with existing springs or aftermarket ones upto a drop of 35mm " This was taken off our web site Awesome - Koni Suspension Products So yes , I think you are going to be OK It is the springs that lower and the shockers that do the dampening , but it is just the unique way that FSD`s do their job that it raises slightly So yes it seems like if you swap for the 35mm lowering springs you will be OK and you will have your Octy back ![]() Sarah
