octavia vrs chip

Hi Sarah,

was wondering if you could help with some information, I'm seriously looking at buying an octavia vrs that at some point in it's history was chipped at Awesome GTI, the owner claims it now has 215bhp but no graph to proove this. Does this sound realistic? Also, I'm concerned that the life span of the engine will be effected because of the tuning, is this likely? Any other info about the process carried out would be very useful!

Hi James
The stage 1 remap will offer 207bhp
If there has been other modifications done to the car then this could be feasable
Like exhaust and CAI will help with the few extra bhp that the previous owner said

It will not give you any problems with the engine and will not lesser the longevity of the life on the engine
No safety perameters are removed from the standard map so this will not cause any problems at all

If you can give me the name of the previous owner I could see if I can chase which program he had as there are a few to choose from

thanks for the info Sarah, unfortunetly it was the owner before the current one and no records have been kept. I'm not majorely concerned though, so long as the remap has been done properly etc.

Yes it would have been done correctly
How does it drive?
The main thing is there are different programs for different fuels that are available you see
But hey if it is running well , whatever you are doing , keep it up
