Default Remap differences

What is the difference between a phase 1 and phase 2 remap (web site says additional mods necessary, but not what).

I have noticed that different companies upgrades give/claim quite different results (200 - 225) - is this due to different approaches or is it dependant on vehicle.

I am currently assessing implications of a remap to my Octy vRS (even talked to insurer), so I look forward to any info you can give me.

I suspect it may also be down to how accurate their rolling road is, as to what figures they claim, so be skeptical about the claimed bhp figures and look at driveability - the best map (imho) will be the one with the largest plot area under the graphs, ie the one which develops most power/torque across the whole rev range

It is my understanding that phase one is a generic "off the shelf" map, that has been optimised for the standard engine. Phase 2 is a custom map that is tailored to the mods you have on the car, be it induction, exhaust, FMIC, TIP etc. I think there is also a phase 3 that is for major mods such as big turbos, nos etc.

Hi Mate
As Chris said.
It is not just down to the BHP that they say you can get.
But it has to be down to real bhp figures and the main one in the way the car drives.
We have done quite a few of the Phase 1`s on Octavia`s and all of them have proved to be very good with very happy customers.
The differences with the Phase1 and 2 is that the Phase 2 will take in to account the mods that have been done to your car.
We can offer you a fee trial on this for you too.
We have also got an open day with APR who are over here at the moment.
This is on the 10th June from 9 til 2pm
Hope this helps
Sarah
