| I have no problem with my standard Fabia VRS but like many fancy playing around with it a bit So as I am on a budget I cant decide between a remap (worried about torque increase effects on clutch and insurance premium!!) or a new exhaust (tail pipe only for cost) will the exhaust give the VRS a more sporty sound but not boy racer sound please?Any advice please Sarah ![]() |

| If you change just the tailpipe it will be purely cosmetic and have zero effect on the sound. I have a full exhaust system and it sounds good but nothing boy-racer ish...remember, the Fabia vRS is a DIESEL.

| Turbo back exhaust makes a big difference to sound and performance with a very small increase in insurance. A remap makes a bigger difference to performance and insurance. I had just an exhaust and PD160 intake system on my last vRS and ran 164BHP with no clutch issues, also less frowned upon if you have any warranty issues! |

| I would say forget both, improve the suspension / handling first then go for power later. If I was spending £200 - £300 ish on a Furby, it would be a toss up between Lowering Springs to sort out some of the dive you get under braking or a Jabba rear ARB to improve the handling ... enormously Just my tuppence worth, just enjoy it regardless ![]() |

| Hi Mate Well there you go a few ideas there. But as has been said , the back box will do nothing for the car really. You would have to do the FULL system as the bore sizes are different from OEM to Milltek But then the cat back is only £162.90 + VAT The cat is only £233.55 + VAT too That will give you a nice tone and a bit extra power too. Remap yes will make the insurance go higher , but wow what a difference this will make to the power. We do a Forge remap or the Tunit didgital tuning box. Both £398.00 + VAT You could do the handling as been suggested £127.99 + VAT this will lowe approx 30mm and will make the handling better , insurance mmmm not alot of difference. You could also look at the big brake kit as a starter for more mods.... Wow the list is endless. As for the power damaging the clutch....it is down to the way you drive it. Use the gears and dont accelerate in a high gear and you should not have many problems , there are quite a few on all the forums that have done many miles with remaps and not had any issues. Lots of choices , but I am here to help you. Sarah |

| The brake mods mmmm The 312 brake kit is available on here for £250.00 ish all in posted , then we charge £90.00 + VAT for the fitting. Golfturbo is the guy I could get the bits together for you , but I will not beat his price. But we will fit for you not a problem The springs are £127.99 + VAT with fitting with the geo set up at £167.50 + VAT Hope that helps Sarah |

| If your going to go for an exhaust, then the air filter etc at the same time, then save up and go for a remap then your remap will be tuned with your exhaust etc. Tell me if iam wrong but if you remaped and then got an exhaust you wouldnt get 100% out of the car. But id also sort out the handing before uping the POWER its 100% worth it! mines lowered 25mm on Eibach dampers & springs, Front strut brace and i also have the Jabba ARB its just the dogs balls to drive now.

| Just for info Here is a pic of my old Furby with some of Sarah's handy work applied to it. It was lowered on eibachs, running a zimmerman 312mm brake kit from golfturbo and the jabba rear arb. You would be hard pushed to notice the lowering and I did a fair few miles in it and comfort was not really affected. If you go the remap route, check out Harry's recent posts, I am changing my tune here but you may be better going with one of the "bigger" names like Sarah and Awesome, there will always be someone at the end of the phone to answer questions and you know where to go if you have any problems. | Exhaust. Would be the best mod to start with. Then a remap down the line so it can be tweaked around the exhaust! |
