what turbo can i use

hi my wifes car is a golf 4 tdi 115 bhp 2000 model estate. the turbo has packed in but vag dealers are wanting close to a £1000 to suppy&fit, after reading forums a think i could tackle this myself, the numbers on the turbo gt1749va 038253019a , is there any other turbo models that i could use, loads on ebay but not sure what to buy, can i fit a 130 bhp turbo on to mine without causing harm.regards

Try EBAY, also try Turbo Dynamics. They may offer a part ex., provided yours isn't utterly destroyed.
