| Error Code 17704 Can anyone throw some light on error code 17704 for me? It is persistently causing the engine management light to illuminate, and each time the error is cleared down by the dealer it is back again the following morning. A cold start seems to be a common denominator. So far they have replaced the temperature sensor, (with the correct 'green' item), and the temperature housing, (Skoda UK had 80 of these on back order, so it appeared plausible that this could be a factor), - but so far, all to no avail. The dealer informs me that the error relates to the coolant system, but this has been checked out and is ok. However, although the code is being picked up by their diagnosis software, they have admitted that 17704 isn't in their manual! Any ideas would be appreciated. My car is an octy vRS. Thanks

| Link: http://www.briskoda.net/cms/BRISKODA...tic_Code_List/ Should be in there manual. Also fro ma quick google.... The DTC was 17704. Stphen/APR assured me it was a coolant system malfunction. Dealer replaced a coolant sensor. This code is not in the VAG-TOOL, or the Bentley, so I thought it might be helpful. So Iguess that backs up what they are saying...good old interweb, hope this helps you.

| I had error code 17704 on my old Octy RS. I had a few problems with the cooling system; about a year and a half ago, I had the thermostat, water pump, coolant level sensor replaced under warranty. I have heard of a few thermostats being replaced.... I assume the dealer has covered this in his check?

| Thanks Colin & PD. I don't know if the thermostat itself has been replaced, but the housing definitely has. In any case the car is going into the dealers next Monday, and is staying with them until the problem is sorted!

| Briskodian | Hi all! I have the same persisting error, despite several replacements ("green" temp sensor, thermostat, even water pump). Did not see any activity on this thread lately.. Tom, did u get rid of your error? How? |
