Fault 17608 found on 1.8T

Hi
Can anyone help with the following fault I found on my 2001 Octavia 1.8T, as if needs some work I'd rather have it done before the warranty runs out?

Address 01: Engine
Controller: 06A 906 032 HJ

1 Fault found
17608- Boost Pressure Control Valve (N249): Mechanical Malfunction
p1200-35-00

I take it that it's not the DV

Thanks

Just checked on Autodata for fault code and to check if the Boost pressure is controlled by the turbo (as it is on the diesel engine) but this code is missing??? jumps from 17607 to 17609 and P1199 to P1201.

If you know someone with VAG Com you can check the boost pressure against the demanded boost in the data readings to check whether its overboosting.

I had a boost problem with my diesel and had to get a new Turbo (eek!) so better get it checked while under warranty.

Sorry can't be more help.

I had this.. along with 17705.. is basically a boost leak `somewhere`.. get the dealer to do pressure tests etc.

On mine was a pipe under the back of the sump. Feel free to search for posts by me with 17608 and 17705.

Just a follow up note
The car has been in for the fault to be sorted, yesterday, and the following were fitted:-

TURBO RECIRCULATION VALVE (? N249)
SECONDARY AIR VALVE (? N112)

I've not had it on VAG-COM yet, but the car seems to pull more smoothly and feels nippier, or it might just be me!!

Thanks for the pointers
