17608/P1200/004608 - Ross-Tech Wiki

Quite common - Do a search here.

18010/P1602/005634 - Ross-Tech Wiki

This one often comes up if the battery has been disconnected.

17705/P1297/004759 - Ross-Tech Wiki

Another common one pretty well covered.

Re: Help on these fault codes.

Very helpful that, Glad theres people like you about or i'd be well stuck as i'm new to skodas and modern cars. The 18010 figures because i had the battery unplugged whilst fitting my stereo gear, I have heard that it messes up with the airflow or something which causes delay when putting your foot down on the pedal. have you heard this too?

Re: Help on these fault codes.

Both of them relate to the N249V so i'm going to order one of them regardless. Heard they are pretty cheap. Gonna have a good nosey around the hoses, chech throttle body too

Re: Help on these fault codes.

I'm no huge expert on the 1.8T but I seem to recall that if the DV has a problem, which yours does have a code, this can cause the N249 to be constantly wedged open and they can burn out, again which yours has a code for.

So you may want to consider a replacment DV as well. If it is still on the original OEM one then they do fail.

Re: Help on these fault codes.

Vrsdale, I'm not much of an expert on these engines, but does your car release its boost when lifting off the throttle? i.e does the diverter valve dump in one go or does it flutter at all? If its the latter you'll find the D.V knacked and so need a new one.

Re: Help on these fault codes.

IT lets all the pressure out in one boost, Doesnt flutter at all, I had a good look around the engine and checked all hoses between components, I'd say nearly every hose pushed in a little and i also shoved the pin into the turbo pipe properly as it seemed to be slightly out. My car feels better already. I've just ordered the N249 valve at £44. That will be getting fitted on friday. Then hopefully Dan will plug it back in for me on VAG COM. so we will see if the problem is solved. Thanks for the information so far very helpful of you both.
