| Running fine yesterday from Dorset to Kent, Filled up this morning within 10 miles engine missing badly - engine management light and traction light showing. Checked fuel filter for water/dirty fuel- all OK, any ideas? Wheres best place in Kent (Medway area) to take it? |

| Dodgy fuel? You did put diesel in it and not petrol didn't you? Check the receipt. If you were almost full and topped off with petrol it may still run, but if i were you I'd keep topping it up with derv regularly and see if it improves. With the light on it's probably worth taking it into a dealer in the area (woodenspatula on here works at one in kent IIRC). HTH

| definitely diesel. Had diagnostic test this pm - result is a short to earth on no 1 injector, which is inside rocker cover. Don't know if this is common but mechy said he'd recently had similar problem in Disco as oil gets into wiring loom so finding the exact point of fualt can be a problem. Apparently traction control light comes on due to missfiring causing jerky ride and confusing the system. Advice is - do not drive it like this as it can damage the cat. Still looking for the actual fault but have an better idea of what it is and where it might be. |

| hi ive done a couple of these on passats new loom required inside camcover , easy to fit and only about 35 quid. |
