| Hi, Just wondering if you can tell me how to go about reconfiguring my CAN gateway after i install my MFD into my 04 plate Octy VRS. How important is it that i do this and what will i need to do it as well? Cheers!! |

| Ah, not exactly... The Octavia 1 (1U) did have multiple CAN databuses and also a Gateway but it did not use CAN for diagnostics. The Octavia 2 (1Z) was introduced in 2004, that one did use CAN for diagnostics. taffiscool, please check digit 7 & 8 of your cars VIN and tell us which model you have.

| One thing you might find is that if the unit has been previously coded for a soundsystem you'll not get any sound out of the speakers until you recode the MFD. Quite un-nerving until you realise.

| There is some information on the VW varient of the unit on the Ross-Tech Wiki - VW Radio System (RNS-MFD) - Ross-Tech Wiki It's a case of applying the code that suits your car. Probably something like 00403 if you have a CD changer.
