| 1.4 16v - 115 MPH? Looking at the online specs for this car I saw that the top speed is listed as 115 MPH. 115 MPH is that really right from a 1.4? I will be getting one of these soon, but is that an error or can it really go that fast? The 0-60 is shown as 11.5 seconds too. If these figures are true, then this model of Fabia must be a sports car in disguise!Has an independant party verified any of this or is it just marketing spin? TH |

| Briskodian | Re: 1.4 16v - 115 MPH? Yes, the figures are correct. The 16v kicks out 100BHP. |

| Re: 1.4 16v - 115 MPH? No, top speed is of no importance, but it shows what the car is capable of, and therefore driving it at 70 MPH would be no stress at all. But, the figures seem inflated to me - that is why I ask. TH |

| Re: 1.4 16v - 115 MPH? i had a 1.4 astra years ago that could get 130mph, the only mod on it was air restrictor removed on the air intake and a cherry bomb exhaust. obviously the speedo would have been out around 5% so 122ish would have been about right so yes i beleive the 1.4 16v above is capable, especially with the technology we have today and the more power they are squeezing out of smaller engines. |

| Dirty | Re: 1.4 16v - 115 MPH? Yep, was in Germany last week, does an indicated 120 on the flat, I guess that's something close to 115mph. That's on a 8 year old model. The engine loves revs, end of. It was accelerating up hills at 110. Rob PS it ain't exactly a sports car, but it's got a bit of power if you want to overtake etc. If you want power, buy a big car like the BMWs/Audis that were easing along the autobahn at 130+! |

| Briskodian | Re: 1.4 16v - 115 MPH? The 1.4 TSi in the New Superb is good for 125MPH - imagine that engine in a small car like a Fabia. |

| Re: 1.4 16v - 115 MPH? I'll second that. Our Lupo 16v feels like it would manage around that speed, but it is quite low geared, in order to make the most of the revvy engine.

| Re: 1.4 16v - 115 MPH? I've had my 1.4 8V up to 119Mph on the old steel wheels... i'd never do that again though, the alloy wheels weigh it down too much and i've learnt many lessons since then. -Duggie.
