1.4 performance tips

My girlfriend has a fabia 1.4mpi NOT 16 valve she is pecking my head over the speed of it! ive seen on e bay cheap performance modules for the fabia are they any good. if not are there any cheap mods that can be done. Am a confident diy mechanic so will have a go at any suggestions. thanks for any feedback Tony.

Re: 1.4 performance tips

Pannel filter, tank full of optimax and maybe look at some beefier spark plugs... make the car feel more responsive, ortherwise its big bucks for very small gains.

Re: 1.4 performance tips

The 1.4 MPi isnt the performance model. Its designed as a fuel efficient shopping run car and that it does pretty well imho.

For performance, get a performance Fabia.

Save your money and get the pd 100 or vrs later on ....you are talking big bucks to get any gain out of the one you have......it was built to do a job and it does it very well.

Re: 1.4 performance tips

It reaches its normal operating temp, it sits at around 875rpm at idle. Its performing well enough, no excess petrol coming out the exhaust. Oil and other fluids are at ok levels too.My mate has one of the diagnostic units to plug in and it said everything was ok but im not totally convinced he knew what he was doing and/or the unit wasnt the best either.
