Re: 1.8T conversion????????

Duggie, I'd much rather you came and threw £10k down my drain, as I might be able to fish it our with a coathanger.

I'm sorry, but you'd have to be a proper idiot to spend that much money on a car that's worth what... £3000? Whatever tickles your pickle like, but I think you're off your rocker. Just buy a better car.

It's not about the value of the vehicle or how much it cost to build.

It's about making something yourself, the satisfaction of overcoming the engineering challenges the project presents and enjoying the finished product knowing that it's unique (and you built it!!!!)

Pretty sure the 150bhp petrol FR comes in 5 door guise the same as the old Sport did.

Well said. I could go out and buy a better car, and the chances are it would be better than what i'll end up with if the conversion goes ahead but i'll know every little bit about the fabia, that I chose to go ahead with it and truly making it unique. Surely that's the thing about modding, not to be faster than the other guy (well, in some cases) but to create something personal!

it was definitly you as it had duggie on the back, felix on the side, was low and on vRS wheels not to mention it had you at the wheel
Yep, ok, was me then... just checking I wasn't having an out of body experience. lol.

Thanks for the support! I'm not doing the VRS bumpers yet, maybe after the conversion, otherwise I have committed the biggest crime you can in modding.... Making a car look faster than it actually is.

- Duggie.

Re: 1.8T conversion????????

I think the conversion would be "easy enough" providing you have a pretty complete wreck to take all the bits out you need. This is what I'd be doing, although if ever I try a 1.8T I will be ensuring it's quattro.
