10,000 miles and no service indicator

My Fabia vRS has just reached 10,000 miles this evening with no faults bar the rattles. However I've got one little problem. The service indicator is asleep - it's not telling me to get my oil changed or visit the dealer.

I've got two questions that I'd appreciate it if peole could answer:

1) My car had the Fuel pump bolts replaced under the recall just after Christmas. Would the dealer have had to change the oil then and reset the service indicator?

2) Considering the warranty implications should I contact the dealer now (ok, they're shut now, but in the morning ) or should I wait until the service indicator comes up?

All thoughts appreicated!

The official line is 10,000 miles.

Mine is set up the same as yours and was not included in the recall. I got to 10,000 andit had not come on either. I booked it in for a service as thats what I was told every 10k miles too.

Mines at 20.5k and it's never come on. though it did get serviced at 10k.

Get it booked in for it's service when you can, I'm sure abit over the 10k mark wont harm it

Thanks for that everyone.

Looks like it's time to test the new staff at the dealership I use.

I'm sure I heard it was a bug in the service indicator - although the odometer reads in miles, the service indicator still thinks it's in km, so if you were to drive 15,000 miles without servicing the car, it would come on. Apparently a quick fiddle with VAG-COM at the dealer is enough to set it right...

Book the service and mention that the indicator hasn't come on. They should be able to check the car is set up for fixed servicing and do the km->miles change if required

Service is booked.

Following the recent discussion on here about the difference between the annual service and the lube service I thought I'd check what is was meant to have at 10,000 miles/8 months. It will be the full annual service at £170+.

That was double checked with the service manager so I assume it must be right.

Basically you need to have one inspection service a year - if you're only going to be doing another 3k this year, then you're not going to need another service so you can't just have the lube service this time.

The cost of working from home

Since January I've been spending at least 3 days a week at home so the mileage has plummeted. If I hadn't been doing this the service would have been due about 2 months ago!

Thats because it is 10k miles or 1 year. It has a countdown in it as well for the date.
