100 tdi Transmission oil level plug

I assume that the level transmission plug is the 17mm female plug on the front of the gearbox? Is it very, very tight? Can't shift it!

Any advice please guys?

I assume that I can buy a 17mm male/male hex plug remover - a socket is no good as the plug is a female hex.
