10K Service Fabia vRS - Time...

Just got a shock! Was charged £192 for a 10K service/oil change only!

I was charged £92 two years ago on my PD100 Fabia for the same service.

Could somebody confirm the labour time. I have been charged 1.5 Hours - I was expecting less than 1 Hour.

If you ran a search you'd find the information out!

Did they perform an annual 10k service or a lube 10k service?

sorry we charge £100.00 + VAT for that and it will not invalidae your warranty to have it serviced elsewhere

Yeah, that seems too high. Even Nottingham Farmers (who I don't like) cost around £150 for it's first year 10k service.

DM Keith Leeds charged me £85.68 for 10,000 that was after FR Pulleyn York wanted £206 (as quoted above).

Yeah, I'd expect it to cost £100 less than that.

Re: 10K Service Fabia vRS - Time...

LMFAO about Pulleyns. That tumbleweedesque moment is a regular thing there.
The people on the desk aren't the sharpest tools in the box and wanted me to wait 3 weeks before they'd sort my knackered leaking EGR valve. Keiths in Leeds did it the next day.

The 10k service is only a lube so should be quite cheap. Oil and filter plus labour. I wouldn't expect it to be as expensive as it is. Take it to a non Skoda garage and have them do it. Your warranty will be fine providing they use pukka parts and oil and stamp the book.

The 20k is a bit steeper as it includes an inspection I think......40k is even more as it's filters too. Then there's 60k.......cambelt. Ouch.......

This is all a bit mirky. You need to have an annual inspection every year. Now, because most Fabia drivers only do 10k a year, it's usually lumped in with the 10k service which is why it costs ~£150. If you do 20k a year, you can just have a lube service at 10k miles and defer the annual inspection until 20k miles (as you only need one annual a year)...

Lube service should £80 tops as it is just oil and filter.

Re: 10K Service Fabia vRS - Time...

Hmmm......good point. So if you're doing higher mileage and do 20k or something in your first year, the first lube service would be cheap but then after 12 months of ownership you'd need an inspection which is where the ££ goes.

BUT, if you do 10k a year then you can get it all done at the same time and the bill comes as one big one.

It's for people that do say 15k in the first year it's a bit tricky. You get your 10k done and then 5k later it's due an inspection. Then 5k later again your 20k is due which includes loads of stuff.

Rip off way of making money IMO this annual inspection lark. You might as well just get it looked at during every 10k service like other cars.
