Thanks everybody for trying to help.
If the fuel pump was at fault then i dont think I would be geting the standard power which I was.
There were no fault codes.
There are 2 part numbers for injectors on the atd engines and they are both the same for 2003 and 2005.
This looks like the problem may lie elsewhere.

Paul.

Not sure if it's the same on diesels but on my 1.8T 4x4 the fuel pump could cope with the demand of the standard map but threw a wobbly when it was in performance mode.

do u have any body mods that could reduce airflow to the intercooler, i know the cupra bumpers on normal 100 and 130 pd on our ibiza kills the power a bit ,

only other thing im seeing 3 different part numbers for turbos for the ATD engine (100hp)

038253016B
038253019P
038253019PX

the second and third numbers are probably revisions for either part exchange or rebuilt turbos but the first number is completely different , could it be a different turbo

No mods at all to block intercooler. bog standard 2005 tdi 100bhp elegance estate,
just the pd160 intake mod and green panel filter. Funny thing is it was making 108 bhp on jabbas rollers immediately before the remap so I think all must be well, just something limiting the fuelling as there was no way Micheal could make it smoke!

Ross mentioned that these were now Euro 5 compliant and may have a particle filter.

Might be worth checking out.

Thanks stu,
where would I find the particle filter, if I have one, and what does it do?

I would imagine it would be in the exhaust system somewhere, AFAIK it is used to reburn any particles in the exhaust gases.

A particulate filter is similar to a catalytic converter, and would be needed to make the 1.9TDI Euro IV compliant. It basically removes the soot from the exhaust smoke. I'd imagine it to be quite restrictive, and probably easy to remove! My money lies here...

Thanks guy's. This sounds feasable as no amount of over fuelling would cause any smoke.
Now anybody know where in the exhaust system this may be?

You've linked to your local drive John

Use the attachment option unless they are too big in which case you'll have to upload them to somewhere.

John - If you've got my email address, send them to me and I'll host them and link them later on this evening.

As an aside - Was the 128bhp max ever resolved?

Well, if my recent WHP/Fly HP comparisons are 100% accurate, the exact transmission loss is 10.25% for a TDI. I'd make that 163.3 WHP.

How's your clutch holding up John?

Shame if its true that newer pd100's cant be pushed...... On more than one set of rollers I know mines the equal of a standard vrs with some to spare!

It will be worth the wait , Mike will sort it......
