16" Spare Alloy for vrs

After damaging one of my alloys and having to put the 50mph limit spare on i got thinking again about having an alloy wheel spare for such emergancies. I have seen six for sale for roughly 200 -250 quid, thats 40 quid a wheel without the tyre but you could just swap the spare over possibly another 5er for delivery. Need six people to make this work, what do you reckon?

I don't know why they mark the spare with 50mph max, as i't a full size spare anyway!

I think it's because the tyre is directional and as it can go on any corner it may be running "backwards"... Skoda just covering there own back I suppose (Got michelins on mine..OE)

Thats put a stop to my idea!!!!!!!! maybe it's across the board so that cars with differant tyres are all treated the same......Who Knows... I did read someware that the "steel" wheel might be made of poor quality steel? I think it was on here

I would have 2 of them :-) PM me. Think there is another guy looking for a spare alloy, so we could see how much a set of 4 off ebay would be. I think there might even be a fellow briskodian selling a set of 4, will investigate.

I don't think they'll stick in poor quality stwheels on.

I think it's the fact that they wanna make sure that you get that tyre repaired ASAP and don't leave it for later, should you have another flat happen.

That would be me - Ma & Pa also expressed interest in alloy spares so potentially three here if nobody else wants.

Also, the spare sticker thing is because the man in the factory has been told to sticker all steelies as they don't know what tyre's going on. They are not directional, not poor quality and you could do over 100 (k's officer) for many miles on them safely (where appropriate to do so ).

Question

According to the Autocar Long Term test the vRS wheels are £55.20 (including vat) from a dealer. Can anyone verify this price as I'm tempted to replace the space with an alloy wheel.

I'm sure that's a misprint, and may have been discussed on here previously?

TBH, think it would be nearer £155.20 from a dealer....

I think you are right as the Octy vRS alloys are £190 each so the Furby ones can't be that far away in price

By the looks of things there are 4 of us interested in a spare fabia vrs wheel.

Myself
SteVRs
robby
MikeF

Would anyone be interested in bidding on a set from ebay and splitting the set, or purchasing Dave_Fox's?

I live in the birmingham area and also visit lincolnshire on a weekly basis. So we can either all drive to a central location to collect / split.

Please let me know
Cheers
Richard

I'd be up for upto 3 wheels if the numbers need bolstering - don't care about tyres as long as the wheel is in good condition.

So how does this want to work then? Should we commit to buying a wheel each or amount of wheels and then someone commit to buying them off ebay? On the assumption everyone will pay there share?

Cheers

If anyone is still after Fabia vrs alloys, I am in a position to sell 4. none are kerbed, one has a tiny tiny scuff, all have small marks in the wheel nut recess from me repeatedly changing them. Two have 3mm left on Conti sport contact, and two have 5ish mm (will measure and confirm) on bridgstone potenza pole position so2's. To sum up, they are in very good nick, but NOT mint.Pics to follow if anyone is interested.

New price without tyre from a stealer is around £150-160. mine are 4 months old, but have covered 15k, so I'm not looking for top whack

I don't care where mine come from!

I'd happily take one of the contis (assuming there's buyers as you presumably don't want to split a set) - my spare's brand new but another spare can't hurt If poss I'd like an unscuffed one though.
