17" tyres

I've been offered a set of 17" Audi alloys with 225x45x17 tyres, will these tyres rub or will they be ok?
i know the ideal size is either 215x40x17 or 205x40x17 but the tyres are already fitted and the guy wont split them

cheers

yeah you will need the right size. when we got our S3 alloys with those tyres on i put it on the car to give me a rough idea what it would look like. it looked awful and really put me off, but once the right tyre went on they look brillant

go for the right tyres its a must

depending on make and condition you should be able to sell them on resonably easily on here to Octy vRS owners, to offset the cost of the correct size tyres...

cheers

Just wondering - will the 225x45s rub on lock or on the arch (standard ride height) - if i got them i'd have to fit them before changing the tyres as i'd be unable to get 4 wheels/ tyres and 4 new tyres in the back at the same time when having them swapped over.
