| Briskodian | Re: 20 year old insurance Ouch thats very high your going to have to earn nearly £1,500 before tax to cover that cost.... I use elephant/admiral/bell direct and play as many as possible off each other. One piece of advice put your mother as a named driver this will reduce your premium by easily £150 per year. Enjoy those savings and have a nice weekend away in Bansko Bulgeria. |

| Briskodian | Re: 20 year old insurance Consider yourself lucky. I had to pay £1700 for my first year with a 1.4 16v and then £600 for my second year. I'm struggling to get a better quote than £545 for my third year, and that's with 3 years no claims (Got a bonus 2 year with tesco in the first year). I'd hate to think what insurance would be on a vRS for myself. Give Barclays a go if you haven't already, they were the folks that offered it me for £545 |

| Re: 20 year old insurance Direct Line were the best for me. The free insurance I got for a week from Skoda (Zurich) quoted me £800 for the vRS. I'm paying £420 with Direct Line. I laughed when he read me out my quote at Zurich. The chap on the other end wasn't impressed. ![]()

| Briskodian | Re: 20 year old insurance Give esure a try. They were just over half the cost of Direct Line. When I picked up my vRS this week, the salesman couldn't believe how low the premium was - £205. Mind you I am over 50 and have maximum NCD. Both Tesco and Sainsbury insurance are underwritten by esure. Best of luck ![]() Last edited by PassatNoMore; 20-02-2007 at 19:27. |

| Briskodian | Re: 20 year old insurance Yup soon as I added my wife on the insurance my premium dropped by £30, also helps if you use the same insurance company for House/contents insurance etc... there are certainly savings to be had. Directline did not even charge me for the Jabba ARB I've just ordered, mind you I've had insurance with them for 12 years ![]() Des |

| Re: 20 year old insurance The long and the short of things its not cheap. Young people like us get stung for insurance, and for good reason too. £1000 as the main driver on a vRS for a 20year old male is good, female im not sure on prices but i'd imagine thats good too ![]() Down to where you live too remember, mine was more than £1500 and i have 1yrs ncb and pass pluss under my belt. Nevermind. |

| Briskodian | Re: 20 year old insurance I bought the VRS because of the low insurance group! I had a 406 2.2 diesel before which was costing me too much. Buying the VRS dropped my premium to just over £300 (with Direct Line). |

| Re: 20 year old insurance yeah i bought the vrs for the cheaper insurance along with alot of other things. i previously had a ford racing puma and focus st170 which both had a premium of around £2-2.5k and i didnt wana pay again this year. tryed all the companies and cant beat the 1006. might hav to go with it |

| Briskodian | Re: 20 year old insurance Might be worth putting your details through Cheap UK Car insurance and home insurance quotes comparison from Confused.com. ? I generally do when looking at a car, gives me an idea of prices. Quinn direct seem to come in pretty low? |

| Re: 20 year old insurance Yeah put ur mum as a named driver, with you as the policy holder. I'm 20 and I had a clio 1.5 DCi 80, insurance for me was £840 with Admiral, put my mum as a second driver brought it down to £705! Strange how insurance works... |
