Question 3 Goodyear F1s GSD3 and 1 F1 GSD2 - unsafe?

Hi all,

Just been looking at tyres on our our cars and noticed that SWMBO's car has 3 F1s which are GSD3s and 1 which is a GSD2. They are all very similar age, but I wondered if this could be unsafe??

Any thoughts and advice appreciated.

Thanks!

Jon

Depends on the different characteristics between the tyres, but I'd guess that the tread pattern, tread depth and compounds will be similar and she's not likely to be driving it hard enough to show up any minor differences?

I ran Bridgestone PP SO2's on the front of the Scooby and SO3's on the rear and didn't notice any difference...

Thanks Chris, that is pretty much what I'm thinking.

its not usually advised to have different tyres on the same axle,or the same tyre of different tread depths.
don't know if this is just **** covering and a way to sell two tyres instead of one.
OR just harking back to the days of cross plys and radials

Aye - it's illegal to have a cross ply and a radial on the same axle, but as for different tyre manufacturers/types - wouldn't have thought it would make THAT much difference... would it?
