Exclamation Accelerating Problems Furbie vRS

When the engine is upto normal operating temp and you acelerate quite hard, the engine seems to hang at about 3000 revs for about 1....2 seconds and then kicks back in and continues to rise. It's almost like there is a gap in the power band. Anyone else had this problem or any Ideas what it could be. The car runs fine and has no dash lights lit.

certainly in 3rd/4th as I don't push it in 2nd..by this time you are well over the speed limit so 5th/6th don't really get to 300 revs

I've always had a bit of a 'flat spot' sensation around there. I always assumed it was because the torque curve sort of levels off mid-range, so you feel less urge. I could be wrong though...

I know what you mean. I find if driving moderately fast, changing before 3000 in the higher gears gives decent results, otherwise just flog it enough so it starts off well above 3000 after you've changed up
