| Briskodian | BAD THROTTLE RESPONSE 1.4 16v HELLO EVERYONE.I'm from Macedonia and I'm a new memeber and I find this forum very interesting. My car is VW Lupo 1.4 16v 55kw/75PS Magneti-Mareli.This is the same motor SKODA is using in its cars. My problem : Throttle body was cleaned and the adaptations with VAG-COM were made. The response was awesome, the car was acting like rocket, but.. As days go by,the effect was fading everyday little by little and today the result is slugish car and very bad response. If you want to drive normally you have to press the throttle pedal below the half to the floor.Fuel consumption has risen also. I noticed black color on my spark plugs so I suspect retarded ignition or fouled knock senesor. But why then ,first days the car was terrfic?Does anybody know is the ECU of some learninig kind that can learn driver's habbits and adapt the behaviour of the car, because I drive a little defensive way? Any suggestions , please? ![]() |

| Re: BAD THROTTLE RESPONSE 1.4 16v I am not sure that this will help being a different motor. However, with my 1.4 16v Fabia, when it starts to get "lazy" (it is quite lazy to start with), I take it out and drive it pretty hard. It usually lasts a few days and feels "peppy" again. |

| Briskodian | Re: BAD THROTTLE RESPONSE 1.4 16v Guys , problem solved. I bought Wurth injection cleaner fill it up the whole bottle and went to the highway.I was driving 15 minutes in high revs near the blocade. Then stopped and revved the machine for about a minute.Black clouds were coming out from the exhaust. The car is getting much better. In future I will practice a liitle blowing off the car once a week.In city drving it gets a lot of crap in it and needs some cleaning. Also I notice better response everyday, I supose Wurth cleaner is doing the job.I'm trying to drive in higher revs because my style is very defensive (I drive near 2000 revs most of the time).Apparently it's a very bad habit it can harm the machine. Now I'm trying to drive in 3000 revs range. THANK YOU GUYS FOR THE HELP AND USEFUL ANSWERS!!! |

| Briskodian | Re: BAD THROTTLE RESPONSE 1.4 16v solution ? to GlacierNR: Why the effect lasts such short time? Any solution? Maybe using some petrol additives? I wonder if revving in neutral gear in high revs for about 2-3 minutes per week would help. |

| Re: BAD THROTTLE RESPONSE 1.4 16v I am not sure. However, I think it has to do with city driving. When I take it out for a good run, it is usually on the highway. That really clears the grogginess up. I think that city driving and the euro energy conservation specs don't help. NR |
