Probably been asked a million times before,

Do these work?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/15BHP-Power-Mo...QQcmdZViewItem

My car is really suffering terribly in the hot weather, would this help to reduce it?

It looks slightly cheap and nasty to me so wouldn't suprise me if the answe was no

Your car is suffering from heat soak. Search on here for "pikey mod" and all will be cured.

Unless you don't have an intercooler or turbo

From the looks of that eBay ad, it's a power module for turbo/turbo diesel cars and I'd be very surprised if you saw a 15bhp gain by tuning a 1.4-8v! Best to ask the seller if your car is applicable and how the module fits on to a N/A car

Looks like a box with a resitor comming out of one end of it.

If it is your car will think it' is permanantly cold and you will knacker the engine because it would be like running the car with the choke on a petrol engine.

A better bet would be to get a clean air filter, check all the coolent levels etc and make sure there is nothing blocking the air flow into the engine and intercooler if you have one. Also you might be able to do something with the EGR to have the recycled gas limit turneddown on VAG COM, as recycled gas is hot. You could turn it up again if required come MOT time too if it's only a software setting on the car.

I have VAG Com, is there a guide on how to do this?

That mod does fool the engine into thinking it's cold. When the tempreature is cold and when the engine is first started though it runs great, good fuel economy and performance. Later in the day, runs like a dog

It may fool the engine into thinking it's cold, but it won't change the fact that the air going into the engine is hot...
