Eibach springs or what ???

Eibach springs to a fabia vrs
Theres so much info on briskoda iam lost. I want to lower my car, to make it look better and more to the point to handle better but do i just do the springs or what? The cars 2month old so nothing is worn out. eibach seems to be what everyone is going for but which ones there sport, pro and pro plus i think. so any ideas.??

All depends how low you want it - Eibachs will drop the car by about an inch. If you want it lower you'll want coilovers IIRC.

i have just bought eibach springs only for my vrs, my car is only 2 months old too but have not fitted them yet as i dont know what it will do to the warranty.

The way i look at the warranty is that its not worth the paper its on. its total S**t. Iam baseing that from when i had my vauxhall where i got jack all from them so iam expecting skoda to be the same. i know its a negitive attitude but even if the dealer goes it will be fine when it comes down to it they will blame the things that arent standard on the car.

And i dont want it lowered to the deck and ich would be spot on. i want the look but the handling is most important to me. Will spring and dampers be better for road use as i wont be going on the track. or will springs do the job? But which springs?? and why eibach and not spax say??

I've had nothing but really good service regarding warranty from jy VW dealer (part of VAG as you know like Skoda), and even with BF exhaust, they still done the following on my R32

- New Strut Top Mounts
- New ARB links
- New OSF full suspension unit
- New door seal
- Cam cahin oil seal
- new Xenon Bulb
- new Xenon headlight unit
- New boot handle

I've had the same experiences with mods on Audis, and when I get the wee VRs in the next few weeks I expect my local Skoda dealer to offer the same level of service / warranty even if I do mod the car.

One point to note however, and one I fully accept, is that if you replace a part with a non-standard part and that part has directed affected an OEM part which you want replaced under warranty then don't expect and smiles and agreeing nods from you dealer..... it won't happen.

So, in terms of springs, if they affect any part of the suspension set-up; roll bars, struts, bushes, etc, then you'll not get the OEM part replaced, however if you electrical windows stop working it can hardly be connected to the aftermarket springs now can it, so Skoda should honour the warranty!

just get the eibach pro kit springs on the standard dampers. the difference is meant to be excellent. if you decide want even better handling you could then upgrade to the eibach dampers or similar but these springs are designed to also work with standard dampers. also have you considered fitting a strut brace from the ibiza (seatsport one)? cheap mod that

Agreed, standard dampers and eibach springs work perfectly well, improve the looks, pitch and dive dramatically.
I currently run like this and have for 30k without any issues - hope that helps.

Running eibachs -25mm springs on standard dampers too. Handling has improved dramatically. Highly recommended.

springs on mine have been excellent in combination with the upper strut brace, the only warranty that will be affected is the suspension, the rest of the car will be fine. and since the eibach's are black anyway they maybe stupid and not realise. most dealers are mod friendly. just dont tell them if you get it remapped

SeatSport (OMP) Strut Brace Iam guessing i buy this from seat direct??
And i think ill go with the audiance and go for the eibach pro kit. If it wrks for everyone else itll wrk for me.

your local seat dealer should be able to supply it

Nope, bolts on right where two of your exsiting turret bolts are.

Can't really tell in this shot. But you can see how the passenger side one just sits on top and uses two of those bolts.

I've heard of people going for Koni and Eibach as opposed to the full Eibach set-up. Anyone got this alternative; whats it like, costs, etc?

This combo works well. I had the full eibach pro-kit setup on mine before moving over to coilovers. They were very good. Smoother than my coilovers generally, but the coilovers are better for general cornering and handling.

Can I just ask owners of Fabia vRS's with standard dampers and Eibach springs - how does the ride compare with standard around town, particularly over speed humps and urban potholes? I find the standard vRS has quite a good ride and handling balance at sensible speeds, and I'm no novice to modifying suspension, having owned an example of nearly every VAG sporty model over the last twenty years and modified nearly all of them! My main concern is a crashy ride around town, having put suspension kits on many Golfs over the years I've only found one or two that don't induce a loud noise and harshness when going over potholes.
Now I said to myself before I bought the Furby that I wouldn't modify anything except the engine tune but I must admit I'm a little tempted by either Eibach springs or a Jabba rear ARB......but the slightly harsh Koni suspension from my last Golf still leaves a slightly bitter taste in my mouth toward modified suspension. Trouble is I'm getting a bit too old for this sort of thing now!

When I first had my Eibach / Koni setup fitted, I had the shockers set super rigid. Fine for me, but way too harsh for passengers. I've since had them set at maximum rebound and the ride is much better. Handling ie. body - roll which I thought might be worse with less stiffness, isn't an issue since the Eibachs are a progressive rate spring which stiffen up according to how hard you take the corner. If you do want this more 'WRC' style rebound ( B - road territory ) Sport shockers would probably be the way to go.
