EMS warning light

My Fabia is just out of warranty and was main dealer sserviced lat month.

About 6 months ago the EMS light came on but in the interval between making appointment to investigate and the invedtigarion it went off again, and no fault could be found.

The light came on again last night, but before I take the car to the garage (not necessarily the main dealer) I wonder if anyone can give me pointers as to the most likely causes, and especially intermittent ones.

In meantime shold I limit use of car?

Thanks

Re: EMS warning light

Most likely problem is the EGR valve, or air flow meter.

Re: EMS warning light

Thanks, but guess what! Having played up last night and earlier today, tonight it's off. Unless it occurs again seems it would be a waste going to garage on Mon morning. Agreed? What's the betting it'll go wromg after I've cancelled?

Re: EMS warning light

Took car to lodal garage. IThe test showed
P1180 Linear 02 Sensor / Pump Current Short to B+ They asked me if I did a lot of short journeys. I do. They did thorogh check and clean of connections amd put in some injector cleaner and road tested. I hope that does the trick.

Has anyone an opinion of the diagnosis? I do about 4K/yr, so would it be worthwhile doing the same addtion every so often?
