Default Engine Light?!?!

this light came on my 54fabia VRS today and i dont know why?

anyone got any idea's? i checked oil an thats ok, it could be that i have not connected that little black hose that goes into the airbox to my new induction kit????

you can just see the little black hose going into the airbox at the top of the picture.

with the new filter inplace the hose has nowere to go? i can drill a hole in the filter to accomidate for it but do u think this is the cause of the problem with my engine light being on?(what is the hose for?).

Can I make a suggestion take the air filter off put the original back on and get a pannel filter .

I don’t think they like cone filters . I have tried one !!
If your going to stay with it u may have to take the car and get it set up for the increase in air.
Also take the Dragon digital tuning box off and take the car a 5 mile run. I bet the light goes out.

Mine did so I got rid and paid for a remap

Wheres this bit gone?

Is it a specific kit for the engine or a generic cone?

I know it’s a bit of a ball ache but I think u should put the filter box back on and run the car with out the box for a couple of miles.

I tried a k&n cone filter on mine when I first got it and it made the car run sluggish , so I think there no point staying with the filter unless u are going to get the car set up at the dealers. BUT in doing so u would loss your manufactory warranty. ( I ask dealer if I could put air filter on my car and they said yes but no warranty)

When I had asked the service manager here if it was okay to put a cone in the Fabia to replace the original, he said no. He told me if I wanted, I could get a panel filter, but the airbox HAS TO STAY In there, otherwise it will drive the car crazy and Il have problems.

There's your answer

Drilled a hole for the strange black pipe:

Fitted it all back together(with the sensor in view)

took it for a test drive and everytime i changed gear it sounded like i had a petrol car with a dump valve?!?. im beggining to think that there is somethin really wrong somewere else.

lol U dont take our advise . i had tried putting a cone filter on my car, Which made it runn like a bag of S**T. Its not ment to have one put the box back on. And get a green pannel filter . Other wise wait for the repair bill !!!!

Your loss !!

The whole petrol/dump valve thing sounds cool, but you really are putting your car through hell. As Class37 said.

Whelan - if your worried I'd put it all backto standard and either take it into the dealership asking them what's wrong, or see if any one a VAGCOM to read any errors.

Me personally I'd bite the bullet and take it to the dealers

I put the car back to normal and the light didnt go out. took the car to skoda and they said it was a fueling problem he cleared the fault. he also produced a bolt and said he found it under ther car after they had raised it gotta take it back this week cos he said the engine seems to have alot of movement in it. gutted oh well.

(p.s yes i have had it from new).
