| I changed my standard wheels to VRS wheels with brand new Michelin tyres on. They last just over 6k and were almost illegal when one got a big puncture and I replaced them. I've got Marshalls on now and they have around 2/3s tread left and done about 6k also. The Michelins seem very soft and wear quickly whereas the Marshalls wear harder and IMO handle better and are quiter. Michelins ~£125 Marshalls ~£55 I know which I prefer. ![]()

I know a guy at work who has done 14k on his Ibiza TDI OE tyres and they still look new, he drives like my gran though.

| I have an 05 vrs. Came with continentals on it. I am just shy of 20k and at my service asked the dealer to swap the fronts for the backs. Reckon I can do another 10k easily before I need to replace them. For those not that great at maths that will be 30k on original tyres by the time I get some new ones. |

| I did have a look at my rears this afternoon, and they're barely touched. I think the fronts still have some more stories to tell. I'll swap 'em over when the need arrises and reckon I can hit 20k easily without cause for concern. |

| Have Conti Sport Contact II from new, run by me and learner drivers. Rotated tyres at 10K service, all equal wear at 20K service, Will probably be ready to circulate agian at 27-30K then all done by 35 I guess. The learners dont drive it too hard, emergency stops and lots of manouvering, but I compensate for that Chris

| One dead one currently with a massive bulge in the sidewall. Wear wise... 10800 miles and 4mm left on the fronts. So they would have been shot by 15-18K. Back are on 6-7mm still. Running conti sport contact IIs on a 55 plate VRS. Interesting to report Bracknell Tyre And Battery can do me a CSC II fitted for £71 all in! ![]() J.

| On the SDI - about 8k miles, with them rotated at 4k. The fronts were almost down to the canvas ![]() On the 1.4 16v, about 11k, again with rotation at about 5k ![]() I think I have the record though - nice set of 18" Uniroyal Rainsports, about 20 minutes before the tread fell off Hiya Paul ![]()

| I switched my OE Primacies after 10k, and then got rid of the lot after 30k. Having since learned that you should have your newest tyres on the back, I think I'll probably be getting rid of my fronts after about 20k, putting the backs on the front (the back tyres hardly seem to wear at all), and getting a new pair to put on the back. I'm using Proxes T1-Rs now, so I expect they'll wear a little faster than the OE Michelins, but at least I'll have some grip in the wet! ![]() |

| I rotated my Dunlops when I got my car at 11.5k, and they now still look like they have a good few months left at 30.5k Not too bad. I'll get SP Sports again I think when I need them.

| I'm at 31k on the original michelins and the fronts will be replaced in about a month or so. The rears should see the year out. I'm doing too much motorway driving!
