Cool Its Running!

Ok,ok, I lied a little bit BUT for about 1/2 a second it fired up and ran - with the new loom in place, with a few issues still to overcome!

But, itS ALIIIIVE! (but still in intensive care for recovery)

Issues now are:

No laptop here has the needed 9 pin serial port for VAG COM ing the key programming thing. Any way this can be overcome? Is there an adaptor at all?

The amount of warning lights on the vRS dash was shocking! First one I recognised was low washer fluid! Now tell me that the vRS washer bottle is unique and might explain the spare wire hanging down by my current washer bottle!

Another light I spotted and think I know what it is a yellow piccie of a car, with a key for a floorpan - suspect this is the immobiliser warning (which is why car cut out quickly)

There were some other lights too! Like the open door light, which is something new for me! Never had an "open door" warning before.

Positive things are when the key was fully turned the engine was deffo priming itself as you could hear the squirt of the fuel pump like normal.

In the meantime I'm gonna start a couple of threads to answer probs.

Sounds great Jason, can't wait till it's complete and we can all finally see some pictures

Obviously once it's all done you'll be getting your car custom mapped I assume, have you decided who by yet? Custom Code 2 will be a trek but I can't help but think you'll extract the most from it.

Good stuff Jase! Might be easier to take a photo of the lights on the dash and number them and people on here can identify them for you

I know my Elegance had the door open and boot open light and beeps

Camera is in for repair so I can't take any anyway.

If you're gonna be busy, don't worry, just point me in the direction of the ponies please. In fact Steph said that I better not mention doing anything to my Fabia while down there under pain of pain. I think that may include your's too.

Great news, well done

Definitely loads of lights, ding-dong type noises and so on to be had

Think it also does something with the brake light if you drive off on the handbrake, although I've not tried/had that myself
