Painted bump strips. Ch@v or stylish?

Just wondering what the consensus was. We assume we are referring to a non-black car with black rubber bump strips. Whats the feeling about the appearance of colour coded in strips instead? Just wondering as I no longer have any bump strips on the back or sides.

I'm not sure anyone on here HAS colour coded their rubber bump strips - If you have...

i wanted my handles and bump strips painting before i collected the car, dealer didn't sort it (great service ) - i've now got the chrome handle covers and undecided whether to take off the bump strips, leave them black or have them painted
BTW - silver car

Handles should be body coloured but I like some black details like door strips to break up the colour of the car and add a bit of contrast.

Black strips on yellow look good, esp. with black door handles and 'B' pillar covers. Otherwise, I'd go for body colour.

No, but perhaps making your own non-body coloured bump strips might be? If its not a problem then I'm happy. I was just curious.

not pikey or cool. looks nicer with them black IMO. With them painted or removed will only make the car look more slab sided than it already does, where black inbetween breaks it up a bit and sets it off just nicely.

But at the end of the day it is you who will be paying for it and fitting it so it is what you think will look good and if you personally like it, do it.

A contrasting trim can work well I think. I had the dilema when painting the pick up on the tailgate. For some reason the number plate trim when debadged just looked wrong in yellow and decided to go for black. Glad how it turned out, its glossy black so looks painted but just breaks up the yellow.

Good pic of your motor Lummox but hasn't your mate got any other colours except yellow. There's another yellow one next to yours.

Yes, they are the standard Skoda accessory ones, and they are (strongly!) self-adhesive. Been on for a year and still look new.

My Vrs has colour coded door handles and bump strips, you can probably just (sort of!) make them out on my avatar photo. I'll try and take a photo of the car tomorrow before I set off for work and post it on this thread so you can all take a closer look and decide for yourself's. Personally I like it, especially the door handles.

{edit} And as promised, here's the photographic evidence!! {/edit}

no offence, i like the strips that are smooth like say the renault sport smooth ones but the sprayed up black nobbly strips aka sprayed fabia or sprayed standard clio i'm not so keen on, i'd prefer to have some smooth ones made up if at all possible. Just gives that **** look, like someones chavattacked the strips with a can of paint!

The textured ones like on the fabias can be done with a smooth finish - the bodyshop/ painter rubs them down as much as possible then applies some build-up primer which is then smoothed down giving the smooth finish before applying the paint
