| Painting recommendations Ive picked up a new wing mirror and plastic cover to replace the damaged ones that are still on the car. I decided not to get the garage to paint it as it would have ended up costing alot, and i thought its only the wing mirror, i could do that! So i've got the small spray cans from the garage but never actually done this before Can anyone give me some tips on making sure i dont mess it up? Does it matter if i dont get it completely covered in paint first off? I assume several coats of paint then 1 or 2 of the lacquer.

| Re: Painting recommendations I did a couple on an old Astra after the local scum kicked them off. Used plastic primer, the paint and lacquer, and the grades of wet and dry as specified on the tin. Sprayed all indoors (garage) over a couple of days to let it all dry properly - came out nice. Worth really taking the time to get them just right, otherwise you'll just get irritated every time you look at them. Last edited by HotVRs; 23-04-2006 at 07:22. |
