Default Picked Up The Estate Today

I picked up my new car today, a 1.9 Elegance estate. I swapped it for the Vrs ( the one with oil the the water coolant etc etc) and it is great, the heated seats are awesome.

It is ok to put seat covers over the seat now that I have heated seats?.

Hope someone can answer this for me too. Best thing about it are the heated seats - used them for the 1st time at the w'end! Old man's merc has them (on a 1989 300E!) & he was rather surprised to see heated seats in a skoda....!

BTW the estate 1.9TDis are pretty rare - test drove 1, spent a day deciding whether to put the deposit down & it was sold that same afternoon. Settled for the hatchback instead....

Don't know that they're all that rare, I see quite a few about but the Elegance model does come exceedingly well specced & as well as everythng else on the older models you get rear as well as front electric windows.

They are actually lighter than a VRS and if you remap the PD100 lump expect about 140bhp which given their lighter weight makes for a reasonably quick & economical little estate car, quicker than a standard VRS

I like !

They're not rare on the road, just rare when you want to buy one!

My dealer managed to place a factory order for a new PD100 Elegance Estate back in August, even though it had already disappeared from some of the systems (there were none at all in stock in the UK).

Even back then there weren't many new-ish second hand ones about, and there wasn't much saving against new for the ones that were.

If anyone wanted one, it might be worth checking if a new factory order for a Mk1 Elegance Estate is still possible, even now?

There's more boot space than you think given there's not much extra body ... oh, and they look bloody brilliant with windows tinted from the B post backwads and vRS wheels!
