Question polo gearknob on a fabia

hi guys ive seen a polo gearknob on a popular volkswagen parts website, and i was wondering will it fit a 2000 skoda fabia 1.4 mpi classic? its sais it fits vw polo 6n from 95-01 or 6n2 from 01-02. I just wondered if it would fit my fabia as it looks smart and is a good price at £24.01 included vat.

here is the picture of it

Re: polo gearknob on a fabia

I'll be the first to pitch in, The Fabia shares it's platform with the 9n Polo, But that's not to say it'll not fit.
I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along soon with a definitive yes or no.

Re: polo gearknob on a fabia

Yes, the Fabia came before the 9N polo so technically Mike is correct.

Nope, the 9N Polo is based on the Fabia. Nothing to do with the 6N.

Re: polo gearknob on a fabia

The Fabia gear **** is integrated with the gaitor and the surround which goes in the centre console. I suspect if you are handy with some glue that gear **** could be made to fit your existing Fabia surround by removing the fabric/leatherette from the surround and reattaching the Polo **** fabric/leatherette to it.

You have to lift the trim up and lift the gaitor over the ****, and you will have to release the clip holding it onto the shaft. It should then be clear what you need to change. I recommend replacing the metal clip with a suitable jubilee clip.

EDIT - it really is about time kn0b was removed from the swear filter.
