Polo rear wiper

Ive had the wiper on about a week now and noticed when its about half way round the wipe, the cap unclips itself as though it catches on something Ive taken it off and refitted it but it still happens.

Dont want to put the old one back on, its way too ugly

I know a few people have these fitted on here- have you had this problem?

Re: Polo rear wiper

The cap is too deep & catches on the glass.
You need to shave a bit off the bottom of the cap & then it should be OK.

Yeah, but the 9N Polo one is better & looks neater.

This is how mine looks with the cap shaved.

I actually used a flat grinding wheel we have at work, but you can use a file or, if you're careful, a Stanley knife.

Re: Polo rear wiper

Dave,
Apologies for an off thread question but seeing yr BRISKODA.net logo, (I just got one) am debating where to stick it if you excuse the expression!

Is yours an inside one and if so how does it affect/get affected by the heated rear screen elements?

An outside one would presumably get chewed up by the wiper blade.

Daft question but would apprecate yr feedback

Thks

Re: Polo rear wiper

Ive butchered it with a stanley knife and its ok now

The sticker is internal and the heater elements dont seem to have affected it, but I made sure I stuck it down in between them

I am considering getting the polo wiper, think it looks good Have you got a part number and price? Also is it easy to fit? Things tend to go wrong when I fit stuff so need to be sure

I dont have the part number- sorry. Got it off a member who was selling his Fabia and I think he said it was around £30 new...? They go straight on but you have to shave a bit off the bottom of the mentioned part.

Re: Polo rear wiper

I remember , in the days before Briskoda , when we all used the VWVortex.com website , that the Yanks were clamouring for Fabia rear wipers to fit to their Golfs! It just shows you that theres always something else out there that you can fit to your car to make it that little bit different!

Isnt the rear Polo wiper the same as the rear Octavia saloon wiper? Seen one earlier today so might give Skoda a phone

It might be.

I know it's the same as the MkV Golf/Touran
