Post your badgeless grill photos

Thinking of going down this route with the new bonnet, as it doesn't come with a grill.

Can everyone with one please post up some pics please. not enough time in my course-break here in Brizzle, to go searching. Will check before I nip back to my hotel.

I do like this, and i don't. I'd like to get it, but i'd like to keep my car looking standard. Do's and Don'ts.

Re: Post your badgeless grill photos

I`m with Fabia156 on this, to me it looks like an ugly big nose.

Jason, why not make something yourself out of fibreglass, or just do some color coding on the org. grille?

Re: Post your badgeless grill photos

I am going to try the VRsStu colour code mod to the chrome bit on mine and if it looks poo then I will buy a Milotec grille.
Plus I was going to see how the colour coding comes out and depending on how I feel I might put some brows on but dont want it to look to chavvy Like others have said, the OEM standard look is quite nice.

Re: Post your badgeless grill photos

Well, the only reason, is that I promised Richard Mr 12 volt, the whole bonnet off mine as it now stands, as I thought mine was coming complete. But as it's just the "bonnet" I'm looking for other options.

Jabba Luke, you have PM.

A postman with a sense of humour!? Nice one.

Looks like I have the grille pictured above coming my way. Should I keep it red?

Re: Post your badgeless grill photos

I'm with Fabia156 on this one. It just doesn't look right to me. The nose looks too pronounced, especially where it meets the bonnet line. It might look better if the silver surround was more flush with the grill, if you know what I mean. As it is there it just looks like a big nostril!

Re: Post your badgeless grill photos

Yep the FIMC is now in production along with the hybrid turbo, just havnt had time to get it on the website yet, altho the core doesnt look that big it is 70mm thick and it sits right at the front (also fits the standard bumper with no cutting) to get maximum airflow,
with "other fabia FMIC" that are taller they are blocked off buy most of the bumper, there for having less of a cooling effect anyway.

You'll have a whole blank canvas to repeat this on soon. Don't think it will be ready for the WSM meet though. Need to get my new bonnet sorted out in the bodyshop first. Although maybe if I clingfilm over it and under the wheel arches?

Re: Post your badgeless grill photos

Not sure about this - you should be proud of the brand and its vast rallying success.

Having a badgeless grill in my view is rather chavvy. Remember this car is mainly bought by late 20-40 year olds who have already had fun in faster cars and are downgrading, yes there may be the odd 17-22 year old but to be frank they shouldn't be spending up to £12k on a car that should be left in a savings account ready to pay for a house deposit.

Rant mood in full swing.

Not sure about the 20-40 year olds who are downgrading, I fall into that range and upgraded to a VRS!! However I would agree that this mod (like many others) looks a bit chavvy. But then it's down to personal preference if you like the mod then that's all that matters.
