| ...in particular the 'Fabia' and 'VRS' badges on the back of the Fab. Are they stuck straight on, or are they fixed into the boot, so it will require filler/paint to cover up any holes left by the badges? If they're just stuck on, no marks on the boot, how do you go about removing? Best practises? Tools? Solutions? TIA. ![]() |

| Re: Removal of badges... Strong fishing line. Get underneath and using a gentle but strong sawing action, cut through the glue holding them on. Then it's safe (honest) to use white spirit or something less strong like WD-40 to get the gunk off the paintwork. Even a stubborn thumbnail is good for getting most of it off, then use the wd-40/W.S to clean up after. ![]()

| Re: Removal of badges... On my last 3 cars, they've been debadged by softening the glue with a hair drier and then just pulling them off. Use a dab or two of tar remover to get the last bits of glue off. Easy ![]() Chris

| Re: Removal of badges... I've heard from people who have debadged/rebadged their cars that it is fairly easy. As Jason said, my friend used fishing line on his, then lighter fluid to get the glue residue off

| Re: Removal of badges... When one doesn't possess a hair dryer as one doesn't usually hairdryer one's hair, then that's a little tricky. ![]() As well as the thumbnail, just rubbing with a finger is often sufficient to ball the gunk up in to lumps which can then be picked off with a nail. If you felt brave perhaps a cloth covered screwdriver blade? (PS: please don't )I've actually been doing a little rebadging to my car, but not on the boot.

| Re: Removal of badges... Ah, cheers boys. Had visions of a few little holes being left, filler, paint....gosh. Sounds a lot easier. I'll try the tried'n'tested fishwire, and then a bit of elbow grease first of all. Would sticking a hairdryer on the badges not have an adverse effect on the paint, or does the dryer not get hot enough? As I've got a VRS related 'plate, was staring at the back of my car when I parked up yesterday thinking it'd look a little better without badges. Perhaps even removing the Skoda circular one just below the window. Aiming for a debadged, miltec grill intime for Trax, too. |

I'm going to USC from Fri-Sun, so if I don't get 'round to doing it over the next couple of days, which is very possibly, it'll be next weekend. I'll make a note to PM the photo. | |

It does look very good. Not sure i'd remove the centre badge as i believe that is fixed into the hatch and i dont think i could be bothered to fill in the holes at the mo. may do the other two though. Cheers for all the replies and pics so far. Looking forward to your pic Maffu. What colour is yours by the way? Guessing black.

| Use one of these to remove any left-over glue on the bodywork. Put it in an electric screwdriver, as it should be used at LOW REVS only!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MOULDING-AND-S...QQcmdZViewItem |

| Re: Removal of badges... Maffu - Have you seen the relocated badge thread in the styling section, its near the top on page one. Got pics of Harry's Furby with badges in various places on a black furby so thought you should see it.
