Default repairing rear door leaks but???

i recently discovered my rear doors are leaking so i bought the sealing cord i needed etc etc i sorted out the rear drivers side door no problem but when i came to do the other side the previous owner must have knew about the leaking and has tried to fix it them selves using silocone sealant and it is all over the place really thick as well! so does anybody know of some solvents or something that will remove this silocone mess?

You can buy silicone remover from Halfords, gasket remover will do the same.

i remember reading what you said about silicone not working and now i can see why i think it has made it worse + it didnt help that it was stuck on top of the original foam that is on the carrier!
