Seat Surgeons- Which design???

I'm planning on getting a leather retrim from the seat surgeons in the next month or so, I can't make up my mind between two combinations though.

Black with red perforated centres or just all black.

I've borrowed some pics, hope people don't mind. The black and red is a quick photoshop.

Opinions please.

Someone has had the red done - I hosted some pics for him IIRC so I'll try to find a link.

I've seen the pics but it was with grey not black leather so its hard to tell what it would look like.

Thanks though. Here's the pic.

Re: Seat Surgeons- Which design???

I have received an email from seat surgeons quoting 695+vat for normal leather or 800+vat for nappa leather.

I would love the nappa but with the VAT added its over my budget.

IIRC you don't have to pay VAT if you pay cash, is this correct?

Yeah I'm looking into this and they quoted me £800 for the nappa

Legally you ALWAYS have to pay VAT, whatever method of payment you use.

If you're saying on a public forum that Seat Surgeons will take cash without charging VAT then you're laying them wide open to a VAT inspection! I'm sure that's not what you are actually saying, is it?

Of course not! Legally VAT has to be paid on any purchase whatever the payment method

back on topic...

TBF, you're the one paying for it and the one that has to live with it.

If you're in any doubt, go for the black one, which is also my preference FWIW

It really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about your choice of colour until you come to sell the car. JM2PW.

If everyone went for all black as I did above, it would be a boring - but very practical - world.

PS. I am very happy with my choice.

like a prossies boudoir (or so I've heard)

I reckon you should go either full black or just have leather versions of the std seats (so grey and black).

Re: Seat Surgeons- Which design???

Well the red with the grey is our black Furby - we had it done immediately we bought the car and are still delighted with it. A year and a half later it still smells of leather when we get in the car. We chose the grey on the advice who Laura who was working in Sales & Marketing at Seat Surgeons - and it was good advice, I was favouring a black outer at the time - but the grey turned out to be a much better match with the interior. The grey BTW has contrasing red stitching - so we get red stitching on the door cards.

We obviously like it - but when it went out to play at the Cat & Fiddle meets the interior drew lots of admiring glances and comments from other Briskodians present.

Re: Seat Surgeons- Which design???

Ricko's look smart in the silver/navy nappa leather.

http://briskoda.net/forums/fabia/jus...ferrerid=35506

Not that sure about the silver door cards - probably opt for black personally. Still nice though. Look to do a top job at Seat Surgeons, well impressed.

Re: Seat Surgeons- Which design???

The leather gallery on Stu's Fabia website is quite useful for this sort of thing:
Fabia-vrs.com - Image Gallery 7

If I ever manage to afford a re-trim, I'd personally go for black outer and silver inserts. A reverse of the current seat really. Gives a nice constrast, but a bit more practical and easier to live with.
