Default The Skoda Shop

Hey all, quick question here for anyone to answer :

Has anyone used the aforementioned online store called the Skoda Shop?

Link here: The Skoda Shop - Genuine Skoda Parts and Accessories

It's just I ordered some stuff off it back at the start of the month (06/07) and the money was soon taking out of my bank account after (Couple of days)

Thing is, I still haven't received anything I ordered yet? No confirmation email saying the goods have been sent or anything

I've tried to get in contact with the site owner by telephone but only get the answering machine - to which I have left a message to about a week ago and still no reply or call back?

What can I do now? Anyone else used them and had the same service? or am I a one off? of course apart from this the site was a joy to use and payment was easy, just need my goods now

Any help on this subject is appreciated

I had the same problem. Ordered the octavia front v badge.

I got a email saying item despatched but received noting for ages.
I then rang him and he said he'd send another out - nothing again.
I sent him a email with my address in and one came back saying my address had a typo on it (b.s) and a few days later received it.

I feel the service was **** and if I didnt chase it up I think I wouldn't have received it ever.

Wont be using again.

Hope you sort yours out.

All the best

Sy

Just did one, so I need to get int contact with this "Young Syd" fella? He seemed to be the site owner? Though i've tried ringing they still haven't gotten back to me, seems they have a bad rep on this site after using the search though, should've used that first I guess, have learned my lesson....

To be honest mate I wouldn't mind the fact that they're taking an age to get here - if I knew where I was with them, not in Limbo land

The money was taken out nearly 20 days ago, I'd have preferred the money not to have been taken untill my items had been sent, just for future reference

Still, nice to know they're is someone on the other end, means I eventually will be getting my goods

Just a shame they hadn't turned up before the Skoda meet tis all

What it is, SecPay (As crap as i think it is!) Takes the money straight away, and doesnt transfer it into our account for 5 days!?

We are considering changing to Paypal for ease.

The part have been dispatched and will be with you more than likely Thursday.

As i said to Symon, we are getting another body in here so i can concentrate on the shop more, as we are very busy, which we didnt anticipate!

Thanks for understanding!

youngsyd, FYI i believe secpay offer a "deferred payment" option, where the cardholder "preauthorises" payment, and you can actually "take" the money at any time over the following 31 days.

Oh right? From our experiences so far were getting shut of it, there was a few **** ups to start off with where it looked ads though the order was going through ok, and it hadnt actually taken the money!

Ill look into what you have said though, thanks.

Yes I had the same problem, confirmation of dispatch, but no delivery, after contacting Hortons they assured me that a replacement order would be sent. Some 20 days later after ordering the goods they arrived and the postage date proved that it had only been posted the day before.

Poor communications and poor service.

Once bitten twice shy.

My wife recently bought a VW Passat Estate. We needed a spare key, a phone adapter that goes in the armrest and a boot liner. The total bill came to over £400 at the dealer, and he had none of it in stock. They had a big sign up that said - "all parts ordered must be paid for at time of order" so we handed over the plastic and the nice man apologised that the key would probably be 20 working days (a month) and the other parts could be upto 20 days.

I don't see how what has been reported here is any different. The only difference being that I had to shell out £5 in diesel to drive down to the VW dealer, and I got to look him in the eye.

Mail order legislation in the UK allows 28 days, or more by agreement with the customer after 28 days has elapsed. It does sound like Horton's have had a bit of a nightmare setting their online store up, but all credit to them for at least trying. And they'll order parts that my local Skoda dealer won't, which is very positive in their favour.

Everyone I know has at least one horror story of buying something over the Internet, and it's not going to get any better, but I'm going to try Horton's this first time simply because they will get bits in other Skoda dealers won't.

As always - caveat emptor!
