Standard Lights to Facelift Lights

Well its been a while since we all spoke about the facelift rear clusters on the furby:

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showt...elift+clusters

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showt...elift+clusters

Well i have finally got round to buying a pair and fitted them this afternoon.

Its very easy to do... remove plastic boot trim by lights, pull back carpet... remove 4 nuts from each lamp. Old lamps off... new ones on.. nuts back on... trim back in place. Done, 30-60mins

Hmm - how much do the new ones cost?
I think they'd look better if all the middle part was clear 9 i had some Hella RCRs (Red Clear Red) ones on my old mk4 Golf and they looked sweet.

I would have gone for Lexus lights if I were you.....joke!! (But on the right car they can look good ) Those lights bring the back end up-to-date

-Imo- the mud flaps spoil it a bit.....

Yup, simple mod, keeps the car looking standard... but makes everything match better: shape of lights (white) is same a vRS wheels so looks . Also everyone has said car looks bigger and much more stylish compared to old lights.

Amazed how many people have noticed this evening.

i actually like the mud flaps, i know a lot of people don't... since having them on its helped no end with keeping the backend clean of crap.... plus i h8 spray from other vehicles so don't see why i myself should give out spray.

Theyre a really nice rear cluster- a bit like Mercedes CLKs!

I would like to have the benefits of mud flaps, but wouldnt sacrifice looks for them lol. Fair enough to you if you're not fussed

Forgot to mention in first post.... when pulling trim off inside boot... remove bottom section (buy boot latch) first by removing the two visible screws and also losening two plastic nuts lower down buy the spare wheel. It should then (carefully but with force) pull out of place. You may need to pull little metal clips out of holes and replace them back into plastic before re-fitting later.

*** A size 10 spanner is best to remove nuts on lights (as i found out after trying many different tools to fit in space!) ***

You forgot "unclip strip of bulbs from old unit, set aside and re-clip into new lenses." Small things.

They do look nice though. I got mine for Ł14.99 off Ebay (as new), so went for cheap rather than newer. If any pop up cheap though I'll snap up a pair.

Good job! I must say I'm coming round to the design of them. To start with I prefered the older design (that I have at the moment) but now I'm not so sure!

Where did you buy from?

Steve

Didn't Jason get an old style one??

I remember he was in a dilemma, one old style or two new style.

When I put mine on it seemed to make the car look wider - i think the longer clear section gives this illusion
