Re: Steering vibration

I have had problems like this on other cars.
I found that although I had the wheels balanced, the problem was still there because they were not balanced properly.
I got them done again somewhere else and it worked.
Also if you have gone to lower profile tyres its more noticable.

Re: Steering vibration

Agree with the above , you could also try swapping tyres from front to back , see if that works

Yep I'd recommend this, and then take it to someone who can competently balance wheels - these people seem to be few and far between!!! If this still doesn't work, ask them to finger-plate balance them and see if that's better....

Yep that's what I would suggest too. This can happen sometimes if you've had a tyre fitted that has a quality fault.

Re: Steering vibration

This might have been what Chris was stating (?), but I'll state it in case it wasn't.

The only wheel balancing jobs that are really worth it are the ones where they place the weights at different depths and/or multiple locations (if necessary) inside the rim itself - where they are not linearly placed. The balance technique where the weight is on the outside of the rim (or placed in only one location inside the rim) is nearly useless.
For me, rim and tire balance is important and I would pay extra to go somewhere where the technicians know what they are doing.
