Re: STUTTERING '06ers vRS OWNERS POLL

Mine is still doing it, the dealer was no help at all, though I think he knew more about the problem than he was admitting, The 06 vRS seems to have a slower tick over and the engine does not rev as smooth as the 05 which could all be part of this Euro 4 Business.

Nice one, I was too drunk to start this poll last night

I have added my vote for yes.

It's also important to add your vote if it's a NO aswell so that we are getting a balanced result

Add me - to be fair I haven't had time to go to dealer yet - but I've always been able to help them, thanks to this forum, rather than the other way round !!

Re: STUTTERING '06ers vRS OWNERS POLL

I definitely have the problem. I regard it as serious enough to reject the car as it is almost impossible to drive it smoothly. Needless to say I've made myself known to the supplying dealer and have them firmly on the hook. Mine's an '06 Euro IV model purchased in March 2006. Dealer (Winchester Motors) has passed the problem on to Skoda UK.

Quality, but can we keep this thread on topic as this problem seems to be reserved for us lucky 06'ers. We must be special or have special needs

Re: STUTTERING '06ers vRS OWNERS POLL

Mine (delivered 03 April 06) stuttered within the first 2 miles !

Just done 800 miles...avg 50 mpg

Noticed the stutter is between 1600-1900 rpm and always occurs when applying a very light throttle after being on the overrun

My old pug gti used to do this...fuel cut off was at 1600rpm if throttle was closed...so if u were at 1600rpm and just opening the throttle, the car would kangeroo!

just my thoughts

other than that car is fantastic.....recon its quicker on twisty A or B roads than the pug 1.9 GTi

Re: STUTTERING '06ers vRS OWNERS POLL

Count me in!

Picked the car up on 28th March, Iv'e only done 300miles now, but on the first trip back from the dealer there was the Stutter it was between 1600-1900 rpm and always occurs when applying a very light throttle after being on the overrun

As I said in the other Tread, I tried a new Maf Sensor and it was fine , the only problem was the EMS light came on after approx 100 miles, but even so the car was still running perfectly ok no stuttering, I refitted the original maf and its only happened once since!

I have a couple of contacts at skoda uk, so monday i'll give them a call to see what they have heard about this problem

Its a shame really to have this problem as its such a great car lets hope for a quick fix

Re: STUTTERING '06ers vRS OWNERS POLL

Hi,

My 06 is now at 1400 miles and still stuttering, but not as much as it has. Mentioned it to the sales guy on Friday while getting the wife's Fabia 1.4mpi serviced. They have not had anything from Skoda and their best techie is moving on. They had had the problem with theirs but it went away. Was hoping to get a call from someone there to discuss. He was surprised I had not had a call, but it is logged on their system. Not sure what to do next?

Regards,

Bagheera.

Re: STUTTERING '06ers vRS OWNERS POLL

i have not noticed any stuttering of my late march '06 fabia vrs.
it has done 800 miles, which are about 50/50 motorway and city driving.
i try not to put my foot down that often due to trying to run her in nice, then give her a bit of a trashing, but its very hard and not always possible not to put my foot down
will keep a eye on her before 2000 rpm

Re: STUTTERING '06ers vRS OWNERS POLL

Are you not sure its not just down to the engines being new? - maybe need to give it some time.

I had stuttering problems on my motorbike when I bought it new but once I cleared about 4000 miles it smoothed out. I know it's not a true comparison but just a thought?

Yes, I'm sure. It's a fault! You're not a Skoda dealer service receptionist are you?

Re: STUTTERING '06ers vRS OWNERS POLL

I get an occasional stutter, more like the turbo on and off to me, just at around 2k rpm. I get this when letting the throttle go gently, say in 4th at 40mph. What I get is more like a small jolt rather than a stutter. Is that the kind of thing people are talking about?

Re: STUTTERING '06ers vRS OWNERS POLL

Spot on!, I think mine is calming down a little (900 miles now) but yes, changing into 4th seems to be the stuttering that I just can't sssshhake off now

Very interesting to see the results so far, I thought we used to be able to see the user name of who had voted

That is an option when starting a Poll, perhaps you could ask a mod to enable it.

Re: STUTTERING '06ers vRS OWNERS POLL

From what I've read on here I think my 06 vRS suffers from the same problem around 1600-1900 rpm.. usually in 3rd.

But tbh I've been having far too much fun driving it to take that much notice of the stutter. I'm quite willing to wait till the car has done a few thousand miles or until Skoda admit there is a problem, I will however mention it to the dealer next time i'm there see if they've come across the issue.

Good luck with your search for a solution.

Re: STUTTERING '06ers vRS OWNERS POLL

i dont have the STUTTERING as i said above but what i have noticed, and i dont know if this is a problem or just me but when i change from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd the clutch seems to make a bit of a grinding like noise.
Not very loud but it is there.
is it just because the car has a lot of torque ?
i dont really know much about cars and there workings so hope someone can put my mind at ease.
thanks
