| my mate at works has a 1.4 16v x reg fabia, last week the timing belt and tensioners had to be replaced at 55,000 miles i have the same model, engine and year. my car has done 48,000 miles so i'm a little worried.other then the timing belt are there others belts (fan belt, cam belt etc),so i could replace them at the same time ? it cost my mate about £200 from his dealer but i'll be going to an ex- skoda dealer so will be cheaper. thanks |

| I'd get the waterpump replaced at the same time too. It's driven off the cambelt, if the bearings sieze in it, the cambelt could snap. Wise move to have the pump replaced whilst the belt is being done.

| When I had a 16V Polo, same engine as Fabia I believe, it cost me about £400 a couple of years ago.
