Question vRS Accelerator pedal cover

Ive done a search, but couldn't find any part numbers on here....

My vRS was bought second hand from a non-franchised dealership, and I noticed after a week or two(!!!) that the accelerator pedal's metal and rubber trim thingy was missing. No point in me trying a warranty claim for it falling off as I don't have the thing to show them, so I can't see my dealership coughing up for a new one.

So does anyone have a part number for just the accelerator pedal cover please?

And I'm guessing here that it's the same part as an Ibiza Cupra (mk4) and Polo GTI (forthcoming)? I would at least think so, they certainly look the same.

Thanks

Just go to your skoda dealer, they should be able to sort it for you.

Re: vRS Accelerator pedal cover

Thanks, obviously I will have to eventually, but I like to go in armed with part numbers to avoid mistakes and also know whether the part is in stock once you get there as it's much easier to check over the phone if you know you have the part number for the right bit rather than the part mans guess. I appreciate there are very good parts men out there but I have ordered parts from VAG dealers before only to get there and find it's not quite the right bit or colour. Once armed with a part number I can cross check against other VAG dealers too, I've found in the past that part prices (for the same part number) can vary by about 15% accross the VAG marques, and it's not necessarily the premium brands that are the dearest sometimes too.
A part number also means I can check non franchised parts specialists too, many of whom also give forum discounts

Re: vRS Accelerator pedal cover

mine fell off about 3 months ago. spoke with the dealer who said if i still have it they will fit a new one free of charge. Want me to prove i haven't broken it myself (a bit hard when it's needed to move forward).

Re: vRS Accelerator pedal cover

Hi all, done a quick search and found this thread and my clutch pedal cover has fallen off, I removed the rubber bit from the pedal and tried to attach the cover back to the rubber bit, does not seem to be a perfect fit any ideas on how to get this back on folks or should I nip to Skoda to see if they can fix it for me for free????

Re: vRS Accelerator pedal cover

When you replace it, glue it on (Araldite works well). The cover is a piece of dog poo and comes off. Mine slipped off and jammed on the accelerator on the M56.

Re: vRS Accelerator pedal cover

Just logged on and had already done this, just letting it set the now before sticking back on the car, but will prob spend £15 from vagparts to get a tt one as a spare.

Cheers

Re: vRS Accelerator pedal cover

Blimey guvnor, me old thread resurrected(sp). I wonder who's driving my old vRS these days with no accelerator pedal cover.

Oh and by the way the TT one didn't fit the Fabia as the latter has a triangulated bit cut out of the top right of the pedal and the TT one is rectangular IIRC. I would hassard a guess that a Polo GTI one would fit and would be available from VAGparts.

Re: vRS Accelerator pedal cover

Part number is 6Y272164701C for the accelerator pedal pad but hold tightly as shockingly it's quite an expensive part...retails at around eur 117 circa 91 sterling .Alternatively a much cheaper option, buy a complete clutch/brake and accelerator metal/rubber pedal set part number FCA 000001 which look identical but retail at around eur 32.71,appx 25.52 sterling
