| I found that the green panel filter I fitted to mine ( was correct part number, said 1.4 on the box ) seems to not sit flush like the original manufacturers air filter, either it's just a one off bad cast or they're all like this? it does fit and cant move left or right in the air box but it can move forwards and backwards, and probably more scary if it went to far forward it can also fall into the airbox.I am very concerned as to whether it's just a one off green panel filter which doesnt sit flush or are they meant to have a bit of give in them, and do I have any worries with the airbox fastened up?

| I would be interested but just ordered one...er...well ordered one 14 days ago - no signs of it yet!! Apparently Greens are out of stock of them, and the company I bought off doesn't know when they will be coming in. Splendid! I had hoped to fit strut brace, air filter and inlet pipe all at the same time to see if the combination of the three made a significant difference. Heres hoping it comes soon! |

I found this also, I did post up about it a while ago asking people to check them. I sent an email to Green but never had a reply. I found I had to remove the airbox to fit the filter so it actually sealed.

IF the filters do not fit, there are tabs under the main rubber border of the filter that are to be cut. This shoul;d help to fit the filter properly. BTW the P/N for the Fabia should be P950337 ![]()

| Is this the disadvantage of the Green Panel Filter? every K&N I see seem to sit flush fit time. Ross how does removing the airbox make any difference, sorry if this sounds stupid, but I thought it has to sit in the airbox so removing it.....errr.....you see where im going...

HF, BElieve you me....it might just work.....from experience, I seem to have noticed that sometimes airbox do warp.....and it can cause the filter to not sit properly. I have fit a GREEN filter filter befor on my Fabia 1.4 8v, P/N : P950337 and it sat onto the box perfectly.......so Ross' idea of taking out the box & refitting it might not be a bad idea after all...... ![]() Last edited by C708; 25-12-2004 at 21:58.

| They give about 5 bhp more as the Fabia panel filter when it's dirty is really restrictive, and it doesnt take long, think of it as not losing 5 bhp, your probably not gaining much.
