| Briskodian | Hi all, I have a 2005 Fabia vRS with 31k on it. I am getting a strange medium pitch warble/rumble noise from the offside of the vehicle which i think is coming from the front. I have taken it in to a garage and after a few journeys to them both the front and the rear wheel bearings have been replaced but the noise still persists. I have swapped the front and rear wheels around but again it still persists. IT has been fully checked over by a mechanic (friend) on about 3 occations and he cant find anything adrift..... any ideas, has anyone else had the same problem and know the fix... im about to jump out this window as this noise is soooooo annoying. Plus to top it off, it can only be heard whilst driving, not in the passenger seat. |

| Re: Warble noise I have a noise maybe just like that, I was underneath the car last night, is it when you turn the wheel? I sprayed the steering rack, shocks last night with wd40 and seems to have cleared the noise.

| Briskodian | Re: Warble noise Hmmm very strange indeed. I had a rattle, it was the exhaust had dropped at the joint and was rattling on the brace (bit of metal). Only in reverse though. But doubt this will be your problem as you said you can only hear it in the passenger seat. Have you had it up on a ramp whilst running?? |

| Briskodian | Re: Warble noise it has been combed over by a good mechanic...... he cant find a thing adrift, all the bearings are fine, all the suspension mountings are fine. It can only be heard whilse in the drivers seat if travelling as a passenger you cant hear the same thing in your left ear so to speak..... i just dont get it........ i have just had the idea of changing the front wheel for the spare and see if that cures it... if it doesnt put the spare on the rear and again see if that does... short of that im stumped...... i hope its not terminal and gonna cost ££ when it can be finally pinpointed. |

| Re: Warble noise I wonder if this is a bit like I have. It's almost like a vibration. I have wondered if it could be the brake pads vibrating in the calipers when a certain frequency is reached. Do you find it occurs at particular speed and/or revs?

| Re: Warble noise well for me it's say from 10-30mph and when I turn right, does not do it when it is turning left, at first I lived with the noise but got worse over the weekend, only seems to happen at slow speed. Like I said I sprayed where I thought it was making a noise and it seemed to cure it but not convinced when the wd40 drys in again. Car is going for service and mot next month so will get it looked at then me thinks.

| Re: Warble noise Ahhh, mine tends to be at high speed. 60+. Guess not the same thing. Certain road surfaces seem to set it off.

| Re: Warble noise My car's had a warble / wuffle noise in 3rd at about 2000rpm from new. Had it looked at, but was told it was "just one of those things". Hasn't developed into anything more serious over the last 3.5 years / 60k...

| Re: Warble noise I had a rattle/warble type noise at about 2k rpm in 2nd and 3rd. Turned out to the the air intake vibrating when engine was at certain revs. Both standard and PD160 did it.

| Re: Warble noise Just thinking mate, could it be temperture related my little noise only seems to become noisy when it is colder than normal, does not seem to be as loud today compared to other days. Just another suggestion to throw into the pot! Davy
