| Briskodian | I have a fabia vars which has the water ingress that has been talked about at great length on previous threads. The water is wetting the bottom of the door cards on both rear doors and is sitting on the bottom door seals. It is due to go in this week for repair but the have said that all that is needed is for the inner door skin to be re-sealed with silicone sealant,as that is what they have done in the past and that has always cured the problem.I have read the previous Post and what the other people have had done and i am a little concerned that i am not going to get a satisfactory result from just having the door skins re-sealed. All advice would be greatly appreciated as always. |

| Re: Water Ingress Advice Talk to another dealer and get their take on it? As it's warranty work, you can get it fixed by whoever you think has the best solution ![]() Chris

| Re: Water Ingress Advice The solution comes from a Skoda bulletin. As long as the latest bulletin is adheared to then the repair will be sucessfull. If the repair isnt carried out as mentioned in the bulletin then it may well leak again. |

| Re: Water Ingress Advice As one of those suffering this in the other thread(s), I have just had mine cured on the forth attempt. The original 'replace seal' fix didn't work on the driver's side (did on the passenger) and so the dealer has now replaced the inner panel entirely this week. Tried it out with bucket of water today, no leak So it's possible to cure it. Make sure, however, that the technicans cover or remove the back seats as they left mine filthy where they had been clambering about inside. Also check they replace the door card properly and any clips that hold it on should they get broken taking it off. Last edited by maffwilson; 15-01-2006 at 15:16. |

| Briskodian | Re: Water Ingress Advice Maffwilson, when you say that they replaced the inner panel do you mean the membrain ie the plastic skin or the door card.Lummox is there anyway i can check if they are going off the latest info from skoda ie report numbers or information to give them,as i dont want to have to keep going back and forth, been there done that(vauxhall).
