I asked how his car was yesterday, and he said it had only done 1400 miles, because she is scared to drive it in case she scratches it..... Bloody Women.....

| Re: what is the average mileage nowadays? I'm sure that at one point it was generally accepted that 20k for a diesel or 12k for a petrol was average for the year. But I think people are driving more now as public transport gets increasingly awful and expensive. In my last job I was averaging 26.5k a year. It's amazing how much a 45 mile daily commute adds up to over a year! I've had my vrs since August last year and I've only done 7k so far! |

| Re: what is the average mileage nowadays? I think the mileage alters as the car goes older. I read it somewhere that in the first three years the average is 14k, then drops to 12k for the next three, then t0k after that. I think :S

We see him in his car about 3 times a year, he gets the bus everywhere. We always ask him why he drives and his response is, its always there if I need it in an emergeny. He loses so much money, but just says, I have nothing else to spend it on.
