| Briskodian | What gearbox oil and diff should I use I want to change the gearbox oil on my fabia vrs 2004. I also want to change the diif oil on the car . The car has done 36,000 miles Can any one advise me on what oil or oils to use and what / how easy it is to to?? Would you only recommend I use dealer only oils for this. I await your replies thanks |

| Briskodian | Re: What gearbox oil and diff should I use It is just gearbox oil to change on the Fabia, as everything is inside the gearbox. I would choose 2.2 litres of Silkolene Silktran SYN 5 to replace the original factory fill. You can get it from Opie Oils who are a site partner on here or go here Opie Oils The capacity of the gearbox is about 2.2 litres but you will have to buy three bottles holding one litre of the Silkolene stuff. It is also fully synthetic oil and should make the box shift better. Changing the oil might not be too difficult if you have the size M16 torx tool that allows you to open the gearbox filler plug. |
